Hat-trick heroics from Dunnington's Adam Arthur slipped into insignificance against Melbourne in the York and District Sunday Afternoon League as Melbourne won 6-3.
Melbourne's David O'Connor matched Arthur's feat with one goal from the penalty spot and two from open play. Two other Melbourne penalties were slotted home by Tim Fennell and Craig Coxall, while Matthew Beevers rounded off the scoring.
Cottage Inn were given another thrashing as St John's College unleashed eight past them. Ryan Davies hit five, Simon Jacob two and Ben McLean the last.
College of Law led 3-1 at half-time at The Walnut Tree as a five-goal haul for Oliver Hincks with Peter Kendall (2) and David Kamsall also on target, engineered an 8-3 triumph, Daniel Barrow, Adam Fella and Simon Gilroy replied.
Free-scoring Clifton earned a magnificent clean sheet in a 7-0 win at Turf through Richard Bedingham (3), William Allan (2) and Kevin Butler (2).
Wills Bar threw away a 2-1 lead after 50 minutes to lose 5-2 at home to AFC Huntington.
George Cooper and Sam Thackray put Wills Bar in front before Lee McQuade (2), Tom Richards (2) and Danny Franks reversed the score.
In division two, Winning Post continued their march up the table with an impressive 11-3 win at Gimcrack.
James Clayton, Andrew Eden and Spencer Sutton were on target for Gimcrack but the goals that proved decisive came from Lee Bunce (5), Jordan Hornby (2), Ken Charman, James Kennedy, Nigel Parker and Gareth Watkins.
Knavesmire's good run continued thanks to doubles from James Harte and Stuart Dickenson in a 4-1 win over Drum, with Alex Quigley finding the Knavesmire net.
And Bubwith stayed comfortably second after securing a 3-0 away win at Wigginton Grasshoppers courtesy of goals from Neil Hunter, Stuart Potter and Peter Taylor.
