HAVING read the recent correspondence over the waste management strategy issues, it was refreshing to find a letter from Councillor Waller (February 8).
Yet his contribution was aimed at party political sniping at the Greens.
It is we the electorate that will ultimately decide on these issues. The so-called consultation has only taken the views of a select minority (with their own agendas anyway).
Therefore, I respectfully request you address your views and consultation matters to us the voters when writing to the Evening Press, and stop trying to get brownie points by squabbling with the Greens.
In the five years you have been advocating mechanical biological treatment as an option, the landfill costs have soared.
So too has the capital cost of building an incinerator.
If the Lib Dems are the party to get things moving may I suggest you collate a strategy whereby we and our neighbouring authorities (and national government/ European funding) share the expense and running costs of waste disposal, whatever option is chosen, for the benefit of all.
