Nestl Rowntree RUFC let a 17-point advantage slip to lose 25-24 at home to Selby thirds, who beat them by one point in the season's first game.

Trees opened the scoring with a 60 metre interception try from winger Sean Harvey, converted by Ivor Jackson.

Selby showed a glimpse of their second half form with winger Robert Shann's well-worked try goaled by Ben Rawson.

For the rest of the first half Trees dominated with two tries for veteran flanker Tim Snowdon, kicked by Jackson who also landed a penalty.

Roles reversed in the second half as Selby found form for tries by backs Neil Smith and Lee Adamson. Rawson converted one then landed two penalties.
