I FIND the plan to build a care home in the middle of York quite a concern. Older people don't make the decision to go into homes easily and nor do the families.
Just because they can no longer live at home, doesn't mean they want to sit and watch the traffic in the middle of York. They need somewhere with nice gardens, easy access and parking for staff and visitors. What's the city council thinking of? Certainly not the people who might end up living in this scheme for the Barbican.
