NO doubt, next month someone will be writing to the Evening Press asking that hardy annual: "Why are there so few daffodils on the muddy slopes of Clifford's Tower hill this year?"

And as Percy Thrower didn't reply: "The answer lies not in the soil - it sits on the ruddy cardboard packing cases!"
