HARROGATE Spa Water is toasting a perfect start to 2006 after learning its production standards are of the highest possible order.
The company has attained A grade certification from the European Food Safety Inspection Service (EFSIS), a globally-recognised audit covering all aspects of safety, hygiene and quality management within the food and drink industry. The news comes just 12 months after the water producer achieved the rare distinction of achieving higher level certification at the first attempt. The rating system was radically overhauled in the period between the two inspections, but Harrogate Spa Water has remained in the elite top tier. Paul Martin, managing director, said: "It can take years of planning and several inspections for companies to get it right with EFSIS so to make the A grade on our first inspection since the new framework was introduced is quite remarkable."
