Oscar The Boxer makes the long journey to Musselburgh from Malcolm Jefferson's Ryedale yard tomorrow and can land a knockout blow in the Cosmic Case Handicap Hurdle.

The seven-year-old steps up to three miles after a rock-solid effort on this course earlier in the month over two and a half miles when he finished second to the progressive Nobel after attempting to gain a pillar-to-post victory.

Tomorrow's longer trip should suit Oscar The Boxer, who is fancied to open his winning account at the main expense of course specialist Bodfari Signet, a good second to Tickateal here a couple of weeks ago.

Patrick Merrigan, rider of Oscar The Boxer, can also capture the Peter Young Memorial Juvenile Novices' Handicap Hurdle on Comical Errors.

Patrick Haslam's four-year-old, a previous winner over this course and distance, has taken well to hurdling and has the best form in the race, with the result that he is forced to carry top-weight.

However, Merrigan's 5lb claim helps to reduce his burden and enhances his chances of gaining his second success.

Nap selection Clouding Over will be hard to beat in the Edinburgh Evening News Novices' Handicap Chase.

The six-year-old has won her last two races over fences in the style of a progressive chaser. A hat-trick promises to be on the cards tomorrow, with Ritchie McGrath again taking the mount.

On the Flat at Wolverhampton, Amy Ryan, teenage daughter of Hambleton trainer Kevin, bids to double her score in the saddle on Bridgewater Boys in the opening amateur riders' handicap.

Amy opened her winning account last month aboard stablemate Harry Up on this course, providing her mount with tidy assistance.

Bridgewater Boys is not the easiest of horses to win with, but he is capable of running a big race in this ordinary contest and he should give Amy a good ride.

Malton trainer Richard Fahey has good prospects with Burnley Al (1.40) and Wrenlane (4.55). Both horses will be partnered by Paul Hanagan, who scored on Burnley Al earlier in the week at Southwell, while Wrenlane is a previous Wolverhampton scorer.
