I FEEL compelled to comment on the genuine concern and compassion shown by a taxi driver known only to me as a Mr Maddison, of Beeline Taxi's.
It was 10.45pm on Friday, December 16, and my friend and myself were waiting for separate taxis after our office Christmas party at a town centre hotel.
Mr Maddison turned up on time to pick me up. However, my friend's taxi was late. Now it was a very busy evening and you would have expected a taxi driver at that time of night to be eager to get from job to job as quickly as possible.
However, Mr Maddison allowed my friend to sit and wait with me in his taxi until her cab arrived.
This was a gesture of a true gentleman and I doubt that in this day and age many would have done the same.
I would just like to say a big thank you to Mr Maddison and Beeline taxis.
Mrs S Woodall,
Thoresby Road,
York.
