Higher division New Earswick All Blacks Amateur Rugby League Club Under-13s enjoyed a try-fuelled derby cup win over Selby Warriors in a 72-point game.

Joe Dey claimed the All Blacks' man of the match tag with a five-try showing and a quality defensive approach as his team restricted Selby to just three tries in a 58-14 encounter.

Conner Thirlway crossed for a brace to take his score to an enviable six in three games. Liam Dawson, Jack Maude and John Dey also scored with Dean Layton finishing off with a late try and adding seven goals.

Josh Skilbeck was Selby's key resistance despite suffering from a heavy cold as he twice crossed the line for the Warriors.

Selby's star man Shaun Bell was twice held up over the line but he finally managed to force his way over to leave Copeland an easy kick.

The Warriors' coach's choice was Connor Smith for his defensive performance and the most improved plaudits were shared by Stringer and Taylor.
