BOTH Duncombe Park and Coxwold closed the gap on the out of action RJF Homes Beckett League division two leaders Gillamoor.
Crayke were out of the blocks first in their derby with Coxwold but it was the third-placed side that won after Gavin Watt equalised and then went on to record his first league hat-trick of the season. Tom Kay and Richard Barritt added to the score.
Heslerton have banged in the same amount of goals as top scorers Gillamoor despite playing a game less, with their 12-1 rout over Union Rovers a large contributing factor. Chris Bell (4), Wayne Pilmoor (3), Ashley Cooke (3) and Richard Boyes (2) all scored, while Steve Sleightholme got Union's consolation.
Ron Klimczak completed his first ever league hat-trick as Duncombe Park beat Bagby and Balk 5-2.
Richard Barker and Matthew Kendal were on target for Bagby, while Liam Ogunshakin and a Lee Otterburn 16-yard rocket rounded off the Park scorers.
St Clement's beat Ampleforth 3-2 when Mark Harrison netted a late winner for his second of the day after Dave Shanks had levelled. Ben Leach and a Dave Wallinger penalty were the Ampleforth scorers.
The Beckett League is shutting down for Christmas and the New Year and restarts on January 7.
However, current division two leaders Gillamoor are holding a charity football match on Tuesday, December 27 between the current squad and a former players XI.
Any former players are asked to contact current player/manager Craig Ibbotson on 07989 399613 for more information. Kick off is at 1.30pm.
