At home, Mark Clarke's team scored a six on the seventh end followed by a three to lead 17-4 en route to a 34-13 York success.

They won four of them but went down 28-9.

Away, Bob Howland's four were involved in a close game which was tied at 17-17 with one end to go but they dropped a two and lost, while Barry Johnson's side led 10-9 after 13 ends but then lost all but one end and the game 22-11.

At Selby, Tony Longfield gained the honours for the hosts, beating Barry Johnson's team 25-18 though Johnson's four had made a good recovery after trailing 17-5 by half-way.
