MILLTHORPE Schools' girls' team were convincing winners of the North East round of the English Schools Cross Country Cup at Whitby.
They now go through to the national final at Leeds on December 3.
The Millthorpe team was Sophie Hunter in 3rd place, Katie Hunter 6th, Jenny Parker 9th and Jodie Spencer 12th out of 60.
The individual winner was Laura Goodson of Queen Margaret's School, Escrick, who finished fourth, just missing the final by one place. Their other team members were Lizzie Eden 10th, Jenny Hobbiss 35th, Isabella Hill 36th and Astrid Bulmer 46th.
In the junior race, Tadcaster finished sixth, with Charlotte Mason 7th, Ella Walker 19th, Rachel Colton 39th, Krissie Towers 49th and Hannah Goodall 67th.
