WINNING Post were made to sweat in their York FA Sunday Afternoon Cup tie with Knavesmire.

They led 3-0 inside 20 minutes thanks to Dean Farrar (2) and Lee Bunce but Knavesmire hit back with Stuart Dickinson reducing the arrears then setting up Alex Malan, but Winning Post held on.

The last non-league team in the York FA Cups, York Corinthians, bowed out after an 8-0 defeat by Bubwith White Swan, whose Craig Popple netted a hat-trick, while Dunnington's scorers in their 5-0 win over Stirling Park were Ben Brown (2), Paul Fowler (2) and Ben Norris.

Walnut Tree came from behind to defeat Kings Head 5-3 with goals from James Gabbatis (2, including one from the penalty spot), Chris Carney, Darrell Boulton and star midfielder Tommy Ashes. Tom Paley, John Dutton and Dave Allen netted for Kings Head.

Tadcaster Magnets forced their way into the third round of the York FA Senior Minor Cup with an exciting 3-2 win against Dunnington.

Magnet led 2-0 thanks to Tom Broadbent and Ryan Ferguson before Tom Cusworth increased their lead with a cracking shot into the top corner but Dunnington fought back with two goals to have Magnet's nerves jangling.

Barmby Moor and Copmanthorpe were locked at 3-3 after extra-time and the ensuing penalty shoot-out was won 5-4 by Barmby Moor with Barmby 'keeper Alexander Brown saving the penalty which set up Sam Appleton to net the winning spot-kick.
