I WAS sorry to read that "After hundreds of years, weather finally takes toll on church's historic means of punishment" (October 24). But I was happy that the original stocks were to be conserved inside Holy Trinity Church and a modern replacement set made (have they got none in stock?) and put in the original position.
Will the modern egg and veg throwers' model be a "five-holer", like the original - and how did they get the petty criminals legs out, when it had a fixed roof over the top?
