MY fellow Holgate resident Mr Flakes commented that in its latest Focus newsletter, our Liberal Democrat councillors have trumpeted the rebuilding of St Barnabas primary school as "the first in 20 years" (Letters, November 1).
But he conveniently failed to mention the rebuilding of Acomb Primary School by a previous administration.
When the latter school was rebuilt, it was also moved from Front Street, in Acomb, to West Bank, in Holgate.
It should have been renamed Holgate Primary School, to properly reflect its new geographical location. Then it might not have been so sadly overlooked by the Focus editors.
