WHAT a hypocritical world we inhabit when York Crown Court confiscates the assets of businessmen who are supplying the needs of the public for the oldest profession in the world ("Brothel Men's Assets Seized," October 31).
They can take heart that they tread in the footsteps of the famous, who were also persecuted similarly, the Crays and Richardsons of London, through Capone, Polly Adler and the parson's daughters whose Everleigh Club, in Chicago, catered for the crowned heads and nobility of Twenties Europe.
Is it not time, and far more healthy, for brothels to be legalised, inspected and licensed?
