PICKERING Town and Harrogate Railway have both been handed home ties in the draw for the FA Vase second round.

The Pikes will entertain Oldham Town while Railway will tackle Birkenhead-based Cammell Laird. Both matches will be played on Saturday, November 19.

In-form Pickering last night sent Whitby Town out of the North Riding Senior Cup with a 2-0 win at the Recreation Ground.

Ricky Greening sent over a high speed cross from the right wing which was turned in by Whitby's Phil Brumwell for the first, and Mark Swales set up Lee Pallender for the second on 33 minutes, his angled shot taking a slight deflection en route to stun the UniBond League premier division side.

Selby Town went out of the West Riding County Cup when they went down 2-0 at Ossett Town. Joe Walsh netted in the 20th and 88th minute to send the Unibond League premier division team into the second round.

Goole halted their league losing streak with a 4-1 defeat of Northern Counties side Thackley.

Phil Walker was on the scoresheet in the first minute and Ben Eastwood got his first of two on the night with a 13th minute penalty.

Thackley responded but Goole added two more, with one from the recently returned Dave Watts.
