IT was a case of mud, glorious mud for Thornton-le-Dale rider Barry Darrell as the second motocross meeting of the winter tri series at Haygate Lane, Pickering.
Just as the Pickering and District Motor Club event was about to start, the heavens opened and the course was quickly churned up.
That did not stop Darrell, who won the first meeting two weeks ago. He carried on where he left off, winning the group one event ahead of Justin Edgar, Rob Cowling and the promising young Ben Thompson.
Group two races were won by Pickering veteran Andy Turner in a vintage display that put the younger riders in their place.
