Selby Town moved into the second round of the FA Vase after a 3-1 win over South Normanton Athletic at Flaxley Road.

The Robins made a good start and took the lead after eight minutes when Kevin Graham scored with a looping header from a corner.

The Derbyshire side made Selby work hard and they equalised in the 32nd minute when Grant Russell headed in following a good move.

Selby stepped up a gear in the second half and regained the lead in the 56th minute when Nigel Croad scored with a powerful header following a free kick.

Wardle made good saves from Matthew Wain and Jason Roughley as Selby took control and they wrapped the game up in the last minute with a neat finish from Tom Matthews.

Harrogate Railway demolished their North West Counties League hoodoo in a 4-2 FA Vase win at Darwen.

Last year they were sent out of the competition by Silsden, but this time round they stamped their authority on the game to book a place in the next round.

Pickering Town are top of the Northern Counties East League premier division after coming back from an early Nick Jagger solo to beat Garforth Town 2-1.

Mark Swales equalised in the 13th minute after Garforth's seventh minute opener, and he was again on target 40 minutes later to seal the win and send the Pikes top, albeit having played three more than second-placed Buxton who are a point back.

Goole's inability to hold onto a lead once again returned to haunt them as they suffered another UniBond League division one defeat, this one 3-1 to Kendal.

Nigel Danby headed them in front from a Rob Constable corner just before half time with Steve Davey and Dale Rimmington both going close to extending the lead.

But after losing Dave Watts and Adam Walker to injury, Kendal got back on terms when the wind caught a long clearance by James Salisbury over stand-in keeper Simon Cooke's head.

Nigel Taylor then added a second and Lee Ashcroft a third in the last ten minutes despite defensive efforts that included two good saves and two goal-line clearances by sub Alex Bishop.

Tadcaster Albion moved further up the Northern Counties East League division one table with a 2-1 win at Rossington Main.

Andy Green got the slightest of touches on a Mark Brady free-kick to give Tad the winner eight minutes from time.

Andy Sunley's 25-yarder had fired Albion ahead just after half-time but sub Scott Stansfield levelled for Rossington only for Green to snatch the winner for the visitors.

York City juniors went down 2-0 to Doncaster Rovers. Alex Rhodes and Jason Smith both missed good chances for the Minstermen, who now prepare for their FA Youth Cup clash at Dunston.
