THE Burgess twins, Chris and Ian, both scored for the second week running as Dunnington beat Haxby United 2-1 in the Premier Division of the Leeper Hare York and District Football League.

Chris Burgess opened the scoring on 16 minutes and twin Ian doubled their lead before half-time. Haxby pulled one back five minutes from the end through Stuart Baker, but it was not enough to prevent Haxby from sliding to their seventh successive defeat.

Nestl missed the chance to go second after they lost 3-1 at home to Copmanthorpe. Phil O'Riley gave Nestl an early lead but Cop levelled ten minutes into the second half through Mark Featherstone and wrapped up the win with further goals from Duncan Quick and Graham Butcher.

Post Office squandered a couple of early chances in their division one bottom-of-the-table clash with Elvington and eventually were beaten by a Ray Moulds penalty.

A Stuart Dickenson hat-trick, including two stunning volleys, helped Heslington to a 5-2 home win over Ouseburn. Goals from Andy Gray and Simon Gatenby completed the scoring for the hosts while Mathew Crowl and Richard Crabb replied for Ouseburn.

Barmby Moor held out until the 88th minute in the only division two game, but White Horse Church Fenton stole the points with John Marshall's late winner

Dringhouses maintained their 100 per cent record in Reserve 'A' in emphatic style as they hammered visitors Huntington 8-1. Lee Jackson and Jamie Backhouse both hit hat-tricks with Andy Barkway and Dermott Reed completing the rout. Glenn Banks scored the consolation goal for Huntington.

Reserve 'B' side Rufforth suffered their first defeat in 17 games as they went down 4-1 at home to Tockwith. Richard Procter gave Tockwith an early lead before completing his hat-trick with Zak Tobin adding the fourth.

Stamford Bridge were trailing 1-0 at the interval to Heslington but two goals from Simon Walters and one each from Chris Allen and Mark Smith (snr) gave Bridge a winning 4-1 margin.
