CHRIS Dyson was Huntington Rovers' match-winner in their second round York FA Saturday Senior Cup win at T&L Selby.

He scored the only goal in the 65th minute for last season's beaten finalists to settle a tight encounter.

Midway through the second half he latched on to a through ball and shot low past advancing goalkeeper Alan Myers.

T&L struck back and were only denied by Huntington goalkeeper Alan Huller before Myers made a tremendous save to deny Dyson a second goal.

Holders Dringhouses went through after a comfortable 3-0 win against Tockwith with two goals from Lee Bond, one of them a penalty, and a strike by Shane Laverick.

Easingwold Town were 1-0 down after seven minutes against Rufforth United when man of the match Jack Clayton fired in from the edge of the area.

Easingwold hit both post and bar but Liam Stilgoe wrapped up a 2-0 win for United in the second half.

Thorpe United produced their best performance of the season to beat Old Malton 2-0 with goals by Ryan Watson (35 mins) and Alan Jackson (73 mins).

Simon Collier netted the only goal on the hour to give Malton Bacon Factory victory over Norwich Union, but the factory side were indebted to a wonderful display by central defender Kevin Oxendale.

Bishopthorpe knocked out Wigginton Grasshoppers 8-7 on penalties after the sides were locked at 1-1 after extra time.

Michael Braithwaite fired Kartiers into the lead against Pocklington with a 20-yard shot into the top corner. Glen Littlewood doubled Kartiers' lead and James Tweedy wrapped up a 3-0 victory with a second half penalty.

Ben Winstanley scored a hat-trick in St John's College's 8-0 thumping of Stamford Bridge.
