Black Swan, Pickering, are the new leaders of the RJF Homes-Beckett Football League after they won 6-1 at Rosedale.

Black Swan's Marc Dobson and Matt Smith both had good efforts well saved by the Rosedale goalkeeper before Matt Smith opened the scoring after 18 minutes following a Chris Weighell long throw. Just before half-time Ben Richardson scored his side's second.

John Beever tripled the advantage with an unstoppable left-foot shot curled into the top corner before another Weighell throw troubled the Rosedale defence for Marc Dobson to score.

Richardson scored his second after 74 minutes after excellent work by Beever, and substitute Richard Robinson scored the sixth. Rosedale's consolation was hit by Ken Weatherall deep into injury-time.

Aislaby United had a narrow 4-3 home win in a see-sawing tussle against Ryedale SC.

Aislaby had the better of the first half taking the lead in the first minute through Adam Hornby. John Sherwood levelled soon after but then the hosts took command, Hornby again, Bobby Brewer and Ben Thompson on target.

However, the duel turned around after the interval when Ryedale created the better chances. Goals from Heath Brown and John Reed left Aislaby nervously holding on to maintain their unbeaten start.

Second division leaders Coxwold lost 6-0 at Old Malton Thirds whose goals were shared by Mike Brown (3), James Stone (2) and Paul Smith.

In the Gordon Harrison Memorial Trophy first round tie, Union Rovers Seconds beat Crayke 5-3 after extra time.

After a brace of Crayke goals, Rovers countered through Mark Jeffles and Dwaine Newman to take the tie into extra time.

Union went 5-2 ahead through Martin Winstanley-Smith, Jamie Wilkinson and Steve Mills before a late reply from Crayke.
