Beaver Patrol, who resumed winning ways at Goodwood recently, can follow-up in the Coral Sprint Trophy tomorrow at York's final raceday of the season.

The three-year-old colt, trained by Fulke Johnson Houghton, will be partnered by Steve Carson in this £30,000 showpiece race over six furlongs.

A useful juvenile last year, Beaver Patrol paid for that success earlier this season when he was battling against the handicapper. But he ran some good races in defeat before winning at Goodwood by a neck from Swinbrook.

Kevin Ryan's Mutamared, winner of two of his three races since joining the Hambleton trainer, and Borderlescott, trained at Cowthorpe near Wetherby, by Robin Bastiman and a model of consistency this season, both look strong, but Beaver Patrol has plenty going for him and gets my Nap vote.

Tomorrow's York programme opens with the £25,000 Newton Investment Management Rockingham Stakes, in which Advanced is fancied to triumph in the hands of Sheriff Hutton jockey Kevin Darley.

Trained by Roger Charlton, whose horses are in cracking form, Advanced was a comfortable winner at Salisbury on his latest outing and looks up to this graduation to Listed-race company.

Darley can also land the Shepherd Building Group Handicap on Hiddensee, trained by Mark Johnston at Middleham. The three-year-old was second by a neck to Indian Pipe Dream at Haydock two weeks ago.

John Quinn brings Leslingtaylor out quickly after his fluent win at Catterick in midweek, and this improving three-year-old can land the Coldstream Guards Association Handicap.

Leslingtaylor has a 6lb penalty for his latest success, but he won with such authority that the extra poundage shouldn't trouble him. And the way he stayed a mile and a half, tomorrow's extra two furlongs is unlikely to catch him out.
