WE have heard of the plans to levy fines on drivers who flout road restrictions by entering box junctions, ignoring no right turn or one-way street signs etc.
I would like to add another "crime" to the list following the letter by Charlie Stone (October 5).
I have recently become aware that car drivers are beginning to use the new bus lanes in Malton Road to avoid possible queues at the traffic lights. This means that the lights for other law-abiding motorists will go to red while these rogue drivers sail along pretending to be buses!
I hope that someone will eventually find a way of discouraging this annoying practice (personally I hoot loudly).
Incidentally, I think this scheme is a total waste of money because it saves very little time for buses in any case. What does the bus company think?
