I WAS much amused by Charlie Stone's description of the cyclists' advanced stop lines as "green taxi boxes" (Letters, October 5).

While agreeing that many taxi drivers clog them up illegally and to no advantage, surely the number one abusers of these facilities are motorcyclists.

It is, in a way, understandable, as they usually get away fast, and obstruct no one. In contrast, the private vehicles that continue to plague Coppergate in defiance of the restrictions (8am-6pm) cause delays to buses and emergency vehicles, and this needs more determined enforcement.
