We incorrectly transcribed a word in the letter about a Bomber Command memorial from Mrs E Speed of Forest Grove, York, which appeared on Tuesday.
The last line should have read: "Even if a memorial does not appear (but I hope one does), the crews will have a lasting memorial in our hearts and minds, and one that cannot be desecrated." We apologise for the error.
