FESTIVAL success was enjoyed by York Rugby Union Club's youth section.
The Under-10s won all three games without conceding a try to take their age group trophy in the festival at Morley, while there were appearances in finals for the U8s and U9s.
For the U8s they were fractionally edged out of retaining their title by Pocklingotn. Each had won three games while had drawn with each other, so a try difference of one saw the trophy pass to their Pock rivals.
After winning all their first four matches, the U9s had to beat Leodiensians in their final encounter. But Leos sneaked through with the only try of the game to snatch the trophy from the ultra-competitive York crew.
Meanwhile, York U14s beat visitors Wharfedale 48-14 led by four tries by Charlie Nicholson.
Other tries came from Cameron Griffin, David Phillips, Jack Williamson and Toby Spark, who also kicked four conversions.
