A DEPLETED Heworth 'A' fell to mid-table in Yorkshire League division three after a second successive loss, 21-12 at Sharlston Rovers 'A'.
However, the team can take credit from their display as injuries and unavailability restricted them to just 12 players, which soon dropped to 11 when injury struck.
The big home forwards helped Sharlston into a 16-4 interval lead but Heworth's superior fitness and commitment saw them win the second half, despite the numerical disadvantage.
Villagers' tries came from Sam Clark, Sean Brough and Jamie Wright, while Joe Murphy and teenager Marcus Allan impressed.
