I WAS delighted to read the letters from Phil Atkinson and Philip Roe re a memorial for Bomber Command Second World War aircrews (September 26).
I would love to see one, but I am saddened and angered at the length of time that has passed and when I hear the continual criticism of the Dresden raids my blood just boils!
My birthplace, Bridlington, had many fighters and bomber stations near, and it was an Initial Training Wing for aircrew cadets.
Even if a memorial does not appear (but I hope one does), the crews will have a lasting memorial in our hearts and minds, and one that cannot be decorated.
