FEROCIOUS warriors enjoyed a relatively peaceful weekend to prepare for their re-enactment of the Battle Of Fulford.
Groups involved in the event set up a living history camp to discuss and arrange activities.
The camp was open to the public, so they could see for themselves how the Vikings and Saxons lived and trained.
The Battle Of Fulford re-enactment will be staged next year.
Very little is known about the battle, which took place on September 20, 1066, only five days before the showdown at Stamford Bridge and a few weeks before the decisive clash near Hastings.
