ADAM Sullivan returns to the York City Knights 17 for tomorrow's visit of promotion hopefuls Workington Town.

The Evening Press/Collier Plant Hire Player of the Year leader injured an ankle in the win over London Skolars last month, when it was feared he might have to sit out the rest of the term.

But he has come back to fitness quickly and coach Mick Cook is set to name him on the bench tomorrow when the champion Knights, already guaranteed the sole automatic promotion place, seek to avenge defeat at Derwent Park in June.

That was the Knights' second and last loss of the LHF National League Two season, against a side who are now pushing Dewsbury Rams close for the runners-up spot and the easier play-off route.

And Cook, who has already spoken of his desire to "finish the season as champions" by winning their remaining games, added: "That means the players keeping their focus.

"It's a massive challenge having Workington as the next game because they are hoping to complete the double over us and push Dewsbury for second spot.

"But we want to win and we've selected a side to win. Workington are a big side and ours is big - if you look at the bench we've got Adam Sullivan and Yusuf Sozi along with Jim Elston and they take some pulling down. We need to take on their pack."

Cook has also recalled club captain Chris Levy at half-back in place of Scott Rhodes, who memorably tormented Town in last season's play-off semi-final, while Chris Ross returns to the wing for Austin Buchanan, who is trying his luck at Wakefield.

He added: "It's a bit tough on some players but I can only pick 17."

Jonny Liddell and Darren Callaghan also make way on the bench to accommodate Sullivan and Kirke, whose place in the starting 13 goes to captain for the day, Mick Ramsden.

Town could have prop Ricky Wright back from injury, while the versatile Brett Smith is also added to the squad.
