A NEW national headquarters in Thirsk has been completed and handed over to Zyro Ltd, the cycle clothing and outdoor accessory distributor.

The new £1.4 million purpose-designed base at Thirsk Industrial Park has been officially handed over after being completed on time and within budget by integrated design, build and development company, Severfield-Reeve Projects.

Construction work on the 30,000sq ft facility, which provides more storage, office, training and showroom space for fast-growing Zyro, started last summer.

Zyro, which has a £15 million turnover and supplies high-performance cycle clothing and outdoor accessories to retailers throughout the UK, has relocated to the new headquarters in Thirsk Industrial Park from its previous base in Boroughbridge.

The design and construction of the new HQ complies with the British Police Secured By Design certificate initiative by incorporating effective crime prevention and security standards.

The facility is the biggest warehouse and office development in North Yorkshire Police's eastern area to be recognised by the initiative and Chief Inspector Ken McIntosh presented the certificate to Zyro's joint managing director, Simon Ellison.

Ch Insp McIntosh said: "Zyro and Severfield Reeve have shown a major commitment by taking all reasonable steps to ensure the security of the building and safety of all Zyro employees".
