How do you deal with the challenge of following a classic debut such as Melody 3am?

With plenty of floating melodies, intricate rhythms and simple, but deadly, lyrics wrapped up in a trademark fuzzy electronica blanket. Or, The Understanding.

New single Only This Moment takes centre stage with the lilting whispered vocals layered over the catchy synth pop riff. There is even a musical realisation of the rare sensation of walking home after a hot date through a busy city centre at night.

You're lost but you don't care as the world drifts past and you're strolling along to the imaginary film soundtrack in your head. The bitterness of Beautiful Day Without You strips it all away but it's easily forgiven by the half-mocking, half-smiling melody. It's all part of the understanding, you see.
