Racing by Tom O'Ryan

Tim Easterby, who saddled two winners at York last week, has his horses jumping out of their skins, and the Great Habton trainer can prove the point at Newcastle tomorrow.

Easterby saddles Dominelle in the Brandling House Distaff Handicap, and this speedy six-year-old is napped to open her winning account for the season at her third attempt.

Dominelle makes a quick reappearance after running well at Ripon last Sunday. Despite being 8lb out of the handicap, she was beaten less than three lengths into fifth place by First Maite.

Dean Mernagh, Mel Brittain's smart apprentice, had the mount on Dominelle that day and is on board again tomorrow. It promises to be a winning combination.

Easterby can also land the Northern Racing Novice Stakes with Springs Noblequest.

This daughter of Noble Patriarch chalked-up her first win in decisive fashion at Carlisle a fortnight ago. The best, it seems, is yet to come.

Jim Goldie is another trainer in form, and the Scottish handler may hold the solution to the tricky-looking Renate Services Handicap with Baylham.

This three-year-old has shown ability on all his three starts this season, and caught the eye on his latest outing at Carlisle when a fast-finishing fourth to Ribble Assembly over tomorrow's distance of a mile.

Donna's Double also in tomorrow's field, finished just in front of Baylham at Carlisle, and did not enjoy the best of runs. There should be precious little to choose between them again, but Baylham gets the nod.

Jack Berry's two-year-olds are striking the bullseye with startling regularity, and the Cockerham trainer can carry on the good work with Beverley Monkey in the Hanro Claiming Stakes. This youngster started slowly on his debut at Hamilton, but got the message eventually and stayed on to finish fourth to Sergeant York.

At Goodwoood, Ikhteyaar makes plenty of appeal in the Marriott Goodwood Park Hotel Conqueror Stakes.

A dual-winner last season, which included a Listed race at Doncaster in the autumn, Robert Armstong's filly made a bright start to the campaign when finishing a neck second to the fitter Nanoushka at Lingfield 12 days ago. The benefit gained from that outing should be plain to see tomorrow.

Top weight may not stop Dream Of Nurmi from landing the £10,000 Motability 21st Anniversary Handicap for Alec Stewart, whose Derby hope Mutamam failed to deliver the goods in yesterday's Predominate Stakes on this course.

Dream Of Nurmi, previously trained by David Loder, was twice a winner last season, once at York, and made a promising return to action when beaten only about four lengths into seventh place by American Whisper at Newmarket a week ago.

Also worthy of a mention at Goodwood is Spindrift (2-10), who looked a nailed-on future winner when chasing home the smart Fa-Eq on his Newmarket debut.
