Cross Country

Tadcaster and Canon Lee take part in the Regional Final of the English Schools' Cup at Northallerton on Saturday. Both have a realistic chance of reaching the National Final.

Tadcaster have been in the National Final for the past two years, and their Intermediate team of Charlotte Bleasdale, Jemma Davies, Aimee Collett and Adele Wright can be hopeful. Their junior team is showing improvement and could have an outside chance of qualifying.

Canon Lee junior team also look promising, and the discovery of two good year 7s gives them a better chance of finding a good fourth scorer to back up the strong trio of Asha Hibbert, Kerry Waterworth and Louise Bonnie.

Canon Lee had very encouraging results when competing as guests in the Scarborough Schools' League race at Whitby last Saturday. Asha Hibbert ran a strong race to win the junior race with Kerry Waterworth fourth and Becky Bones 29 out of 75.

Their year 7 pairing had their first ever race but ran with great maturity with Holly Atkinson tenth and Louis Teller 17th out of 70.
