Tonight we issue our Millennium Appeal school challenge. And we are sure that pupils will rise to it.
We want every school in the area to help us raise £2 million to enable St Leonard's Hospice build an extension fit for the 21st century.
The cause could not be more worthwhile. We would like everyone to be involved - not just the children, but the parents and teachers too.
All we need are ideas and enthusiasm.
The pupils and staff at Dunnington Primary School have set a fine example.
They are taking part in sponsored circuit training, which will raise money and keep them fit at the same time.
This is fundraising with the emphasis on fun.
