I do hope Evening Press readers took due regard of the excellent letter from Dr A H Brown about the single euro currency disaste (Letters, March 26). It seems both the major parties will take us down the federal European road. Only we, the voters, can put a stop to it.
Some facts that didn't appear in the Government's 21-page mailshot extolling how wonderful the Euro will be. In relation to Europe Britain has the largest coal deposits, gas and oil reserves, overseas investment, overseas earnings and the biggest pension funds. All these then become assets of the EU over which we have no control. We lose it at our peril. Democracy is the right to hire and fire those who rule us. Lose it at our peril.
If apathy rules the day, then we deserve all we get.
