Scarborough drew 1-1 in their friendly with top Norwegian side Tromso at the McCain Stadium.
The Norwegians, whose domestic season starts next week, provided stern opposition after winning their championship two years ago and the cup last season.
But it was Boro who took the lead midway through the first-half thanks to a crisp drive from the edge of the area from striker Liam Robinson.
Tromso equalised just before half-time but Boro 'keeper Kevin Martin, on his road to recovery after a long injury, earned praise from boss Colin Addison after an outstanding display.
Addison gave midfielder Nathan Jones, signed from Southend United on transfer deadline day, his debut while fellow loan signing Sean McAuley, from Scunthorpe United, also made his first full start after coming off the bench against Rochdale.
