York City Boys Under-15 team won the Yorkshire Trophy Plate football competition, beating Rotherham 2-1 in the final played at New Earswick.

Both the York goals were scored by Lee Atkinson, one of them from the penalty spot.

During the season five of the City Boys U15 players have been selected for the county squad - Cameron Stuart, Ian Calpin, Lee Atkinson, Chris Code and James Paxton.

Cameron Stuart was also selected for the North of England team. City Boys U11s reached the final of the Sheffield Green 'Un Cup but were beaten 3-1 on aggregate by Leeds after having won the first leg 1-0.

All Saints' U14s lost 1-0 to Allertonshire School, Northallerton in the County Cup final.

Joseph Rowntree U15s won the Green Howards competition final 1-0.Appleton Roebuck School were runners-up in the County six-a-side competition finals.

Cricket

Fulford beat Tadcaster by 25 runs in the Schools' Under-15 Cricket League. Fulford, batting first, scored 113 for four wickets. Tadcaster replied with 88 for seven.

Fulford's leading scorers were Pearce (23 retired), Hovington (25 retired) and Sadiq (25 retired). Fulford's best bowlers were Hovington with two wickets for eight runs, Hussain with two wickets for 13, and Sadiq with two wickets for 15.
