George Duffield, who experienced mixed fortunes yesterday at Hamilton where he rode a winner, but also picked up a three-day suspension, is back in Scotland tomorrow with good prospects of enjoying a lucrative afternoon.

The veteran jockey travels to Musselburgh and teams-up with Chicodove in the Royal Scots Cup Handicap. Sir Mark Prescott's filly should take all the beating.

Tried over a mile and a half at Haydock last time, Chicodove could finish only fifth to Little Ann in the concluding race, by which time the ground had become soft on the Lancashire course.

Prior to that, Chicodove had been tried over two miles at Chepstow and had weakened into third place behind Temple Way in the closing stages.

Tomorrow, she is not only dropped in class but will tackle a distance - one and three-quarter miles - which should prove ideal.

Duffield and Prescott can also lift the Royal Scots Club Nursery Handicap with Dance In Tune.

This lightly-raced colt pulled too hard for his own good when narrowly beaten by Lady Helen at Beverley on his debut. He has since finished a good second to Sanguine at Catterick before coasting home an easy winner on the sand at Wolverhampton last time out.

He is capable of defying top-weight tomorrow and looks worthy of the nap vote.

Kid'z'play will be a popular choice in the Stewarts Handicap.

Trained by Glasgow-based Jim Goldie, a man to be feared, especially north of the border, Kid'z'play ran out a very easy winner at Hamilton last time, coming home with seven lengths to spare over Swing Bar.

He can follow up tomorrow under Dean McKeown.

Kevin Darley, hero of last week's Tote Ebor Handicap on Vicious Circle, can make his presence felt at Musselburgh aboard Newmarket raider Plutocrat, who should find the Computerised Clerks Classified Claiming Stakes within his compass.

Danny Power is a difficult horse to win with but David Barron's sprinter returns to a course and distance where he has scoredin the past and is deserving of attention in the Links Apprentice Handicap. Paul Goode, an experienced rider, has the mount.

Peter Chapple-Hyam was yesterday sensationally sacked by Robert Sangster, who is replacing him with John Gosden at his fabulous Manton training establishment.

Tomorrow, Chapple-Hyam will be strongly represented at Folkestone by Bassinello in the Tote Lady In Red Showcase Handicap.

A winner at Pontefract on her delayed seasonal debut earlier this month, Bassinello has the scope for plenty of improvement and she could well prove capable of lifting this tougher event.

Jimmy Fortune, who has been suspended for most of the past month, returns from the sidelines to partner Bassinello and can enjoy a welcome winner.
