Unbeaten Scarborough face yet another test of their championship credentials tomorrow with the visit of table-toppers Stevenage Borough to the McCain Stadium.

Bossed by Richard Hill, John Gregory's former number two at Wycombe Wanderers, Stevenage have won all of their opening four games and are closing in on Rushden & Diamonds' Conference record of seven straight wins at the start of last term.

Boro officials will be hoping they can attract another 2,000-plus crowd for what will undoubtedly be the Conference match of the day after 2,198 turned out for Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Hednesford - one of the best midweek turnouts in recent years.

Stevenage will certainly offer Boro their stiffest test so far having just broken their club transfer record with the £18,000 signing of their former striker Justin Jackson from Halifax Town.

Jackson marked his return debut with a winning goal in last Saturday's 1-0 success at Hayes.

But third-placed Boro, themselves unbeaten after four games, are expected to name an unchanged squad for the fifth game running.

And the big games for the Boro just keep coming - on Bank Holiday Monday they head west to take on Morecambe who are currently level on points with the Seasiders in fourth place.

Morecambe had an impressive 3-2 win over Boro boss Colin Addison's old side, Hereford United, in midweek.

Its derby day in division one of the Northern Counties East League division one with Tadcaster Albion welcoming Pickering Town to Ing's Park.

Pikes boss Jimmy Reid will be hoping his young, potential-packed side can transform the form shown last week in the FA Cup win over Horden Colliery to the bread and butter of the league.

A Pickering team featuring no less than eight changes from that Cup win drew 0-0 with Ryedale Sports in midweek in the Ian Farrow Memorial Trophy at Kirkbymoorside before going out of the competition on penalties.

It could be a good time to play Albion, who have lost each of their three games so far, including a 6-0 hammering in the Cup last week at the hands of Tow Law town.

Missing for Pikes will be Matty Morton, who is away on holiday, but Reid welcomes back skipper Dean Macauley, who missed the win over Horden through suspension, and striker Mark Woods, who has also been on holiday.

Early NCEL division one pacesetters Goole will be looking to bounce back from their midweek FA Cup pre-liminary round exit at the hands of Trafford by registering their third league win.

Borrowash Victoria are the visitors to the Victoria Pleasure Grounds with Goole already being tipped for promotion by both Albion and the Pikes who have been on the receiving end of the Vikings in their opening two matches.

In the NCEL premier, Selby Town travel to Alfreton Town, who were relegated from the UniBond League last season but kicked off the season with a 4-0 home win against Maltby.

The Robins will be eager to gain revenge on Alfreton manager Jason Maybury, who was in charge of Denaby last season when they beat Selby in the League Cup.

Selby will be without Richard Tomlinson and Gareth Rhodes but should have Ian Phillips and 'keeper Matthew Potter available again while Chris Whalley has returned from working in America.

On Monday, Selby welcome Brigg Town, who finished third last season, to Flaxley Road.

Division one champions Harrogate Railway have made an unbeaten start to their season and will be boosted by their FA Cup win over Willington last week when they travel to President Cup runners-up Garforth Town tomorrow.

On Monday they welcome Thackley to Station View.

In the West Yorkshire League, both champions Nestl Rowntree and York RI are in the hunt for a hat-trick of wins while Knaresborough Town bid to avoid a hat-trick of defeats.

Knaresborough, narrowly beaten 1-0 last week by Rothwell and 2-0 in midweek against RI, perhaps face the stiffest test when they travel to last season's runners-up, Carlton.

While Town, with a number of new faces in their ranks and with a new manager in Paul Howard are taking time to gel, Carlton have made an impressive start to the season, wining both their games and scoring ten goals in the process.

'Trees welcome Horsforth St Margarets to Mille Crux yet to concede a goal.

Manager Jim Collis is full of praise for Mark Watkinson and Steve Haddon, the two pre-season additions to his championship winning squad.

Steve Kehoe has also been drafted in from York Sunday side South Bank and has done a sterling job, said Collis.

"We are probably stronger than last year and I was really pleased with how the lads performed in midweek ( a 5-0 win over Aberford Albion)," said Collis. "We have been doing it in pre-season but we haven't always got the result our play deserved."

York RI, who welcome Wakefield to New Lane, have also recorded two wins and enjoyed two clean sheets, much to the delight of boss John Raynor.

RI net-minding duties have so far been shared by Adam Mitchell and Lee Adamson, with both in outstanding form.

Scott Barley has been hailed as "magnificent" at the back in RI's last two outings.

Missing tomorrow, however, will be Barley's fellow centre-half Lee Knaggs, who is unavailable due to work commitments. Ben Coxon, who made a 20 minute appearance in midweek against Knaresborough, is likely to start.

Tadcaster Magnets face a tough task if they are to record their first win after an 8-1 defeat at Beeston St Anthony's and a 4-2 home defeat against Carlton, as they travel to Whitkirk Wanderers, who will be bidding for the title this year.

In the UniBond first division, Harrogate Town will also be hoping to avoid an unwanted hat-trick of defeats against Workington after making such an impressive start to the season.

Last week's 2-1 FA Cup defeat at the hands of Morpeth was followed in midweek by a shock 3-0 trouncing in the league at home to Bradford Park Avenue.

Manager Paul Ward will not want anymore slip-ups but Workington will be a stern test, who despite also crashing out of the FA Cup have won their opening three encounters so far.

On Monday, Town travel to Farsley Celtic where Town old-boy Martin Regan, once of Whitby Town, will be lying in wait after a summer switch with Nigel Smith.

Former York City star Ian Blackstone, another Town player, could also feature for Farsley although he has been unable to command a regular place so far.
