I was very sorry to hear of the death of the Conservative MP Alan Clark.
He was my kind of man - he said what he meant, and meant what he said.
British politics will be even more dull without Alan Clark. His forthrightness on events and his views on other MPs were always colourful.
No one is perfect and Mr Clark could occasionally lie and deceive, but he was a great character and will be sorely missed.
