Because I have been slow in writing to thank York Wasps, I now have a say a double thanks.

Firstly I would like to say thank you on behalf of my sons and other young people from the Project. Our visit to see York Wasps play against Hull KR was a great pick-me-up after a terrible start to our summer, when the office and equipment store on Viking Road Park was burgled and equipment stolen which was to be used during the long summer break. Some children spent holiday spending money and pocket money, and parents contributed to try to replace some of the stolen items.

The match was extremely exciting and a great game to watch, the players gave a superb display of passing and tackling skills, in such hot conditions, with a brilliant result.

After the match we were invited to have photographs taken and meet the players. We now have some excellent signed photos. The children also went into the bar to obtain autographs.

Secondly, I would like to say a big thank you to the three rugby players who gave up their time to come to the Project's fun day to present medals and trophies to the children in Viking Road Park.

Thank you to Fata Sini, Peter Edwards, Leigh Deakin (you certainly look different without your rugby kit on!).
