We are constantly being told by politicians to use public services and transport more. York is a major tourist centre and attraction for foreign visitors, and yet our great city still does not have a proper bus station.
Our city has several empty sites and in particular the old Presto supermarket in George Hudson Street and Tanner Row and the old Co-op store in Micklegate and George Hudson Street; both are near York station and fairly central.
So come on York City Council planners and politicians, do the obvious and organise what our wonderful city most needs - a decent bus station. It is a disgrace on York when little towns such as Ripon, Selby, Tadcaster have good bus stations and we do not.
It is confusing for any visitor to York to try and sort out the bus system and even worse for foreigners.
