HOLE-Y EFFORT: From left: Oakland School pupils Richard Gott, Alex Bellwood and James Richardson, with artist Wayne Sleeth and the 'Mintster'

The Mintster, created from 12,000 Polo sweets by pupils at Oaklands School, Acomb, York, has gone on display in the reception of Polo manufacturers, Nestl Rowntree.

A team of teenagers from the school made the model at the school's after-school study centre with artist Wayne Sleeth.

The hole-y landmark was re-created over several months using mints for the stonework and fruit Polos for the stained glass windows.

Nestl Rowntree donated many of the sweets used in the model, which is now on display in its Haxby Road reception.
