York City supporters will be have a chance to air their views next month after the Bootham Crescent board granted a request for a fans' forum.

The third fans' forum will take place on Tuesday, March 14, from 7pm to 9pm, at Queen Anne School, York.

It will be almost a year to the day that chairman Douglas Craig, speaking at the second of last season's events, announced Alan Little had been sacked with current chief Neil Thompson unveiled as caretaker boss.

City secretary Keith Usher confirmed Craig and the club's directors will again be in attendance next month, along with Thompson.

At both meetings last season, questions from the floor were directed to City's board and management team under the chairmanship of Malcolm Huntington

The request for a meeting had come from Raymond Wynn, acting in his role as secretary of York City FC Supporters Club.

Wynn today said he was "delighted" at the club's decision.

"The board cannot have been fairer and they have discussed the matter promptly," he said.

"Now we want everyone to get down to the forum to make their views felt and to express any concerns.

"Let's have some constructive discussion with the people who matter; season ticket holders, share holders and those involved in the supporters' club."

While a decision on who will chair the forum has yet to be decided, Wynn said he was hopeful Huntington, the former chief sports writer at the Evening Press would accept the role again.

"He did a fabulous job at the previous forums," said Wynn.

York City reserves are in Pontins League division one action tonight when they entertain Wrexham at Bootham Crescent, kick-off 7pm.

Manager Thompson has named himself in the starting line-up as he makes his way back to full fitness from a calf injury while first teamers Craig Skinner, Andrew Dawson, James Turley and Marc Williams are also named.

In a boost for Thompson, central midfielder Kevin Hulme is included among the substitutes and is earmarked for his first appearance in a City shirt since undergoing a hernia operation at the beginning of December.

Currently in fifth place in division one, a win tonight over second from bottom Wrexham could lift the Minstermen's second string into third place.

York City reserves: Howarth, Dawson, N Thompson, Vasey, Rennison, Wood, Skinner, Walters, M Williams, M Thompson. Subs: Rhodes, Collinson, Whitfield, Keegan, Hulme.

Everton midfielder Don Hutchison has hit out at reports quoting him as looking for a move back to his native North East with Newcastle or Sunderland.

The Scotland international blasted: "I find it laughable. It's a disgrace that someone can quote me as saying things like that when I haven't even said it."
