Scarborough are waiting on the fitness of striker Chris Tate as they take a step into the unknown in the FA Umbro Trophy fourth round.

The Seadogs travel to Windsor to face Dr Martens League side Burnham, a team of which manager Colin Addison has no first-hand experience.

His only doubt is former York City frontman Tate who is suffering from 'flu but Addison is confident he will recover in time.

Boro are hoping to avoid their third defeat in the space of a week which has abruptly ended their impressive run in the Nationwide Conference.

They were dumped out of the Nationwide Macmillan Trophy by Doncaster on Tuesday night which came just four days after an unexpected league beating by Telford.

However they will be favourites to move a step nearer Wembley tomorrow - and a step nearer repeating their achievements of the 1970s when they won the competition three times.

"I've never played them before but I know they got a promotion last year," said Addison of their opponents.

"We had them watched last week. It will be a difficult game and we are not underestimating then even though they are in a lower league.

"It's an important game for us. We had a great run which ended last week and this might give us a kick up the backside."

Pickering Town's form has picked up of late and they have a good chance to continue that run at Hatfield Main.

Jimmy Reid's Pikes are still fourth from bottom of the Northern Counties East League first division but Hatfield have managed just three wins all season to leave them one place off the basement.

Skipper Dean McAuley is suspended so his place is taken by North Riding county player Phil O'Reilly.

It will be a bit tougher for another struggling team, Tadcaster Albion, who are at home to promotion seeking Worsbrough.

Darren Holmes and Billy Hicks are both injured but would have missed the game anyway through suspension.

Holmes has hurt an ankle while Hicks needed two stitches in a foot injury picked up in last week's 1-1 draw with Pontefract.

Also unavailable is Gareth Rhodes who is on holiday but Glen Littlewood returns from injury to bolster the defence.

Leeds club Yorkshire Amateur have been ousted from the West Riding County Cup by the County FA after they failed to turn up for their match at Tadcaster early this year. They were also fined and ordered to pay Albion's cost.

Leaders Goole face a top of the table clash at home to Winterton in the first division.

They are four points clear of second-placed Winterton and also have a game in hand. The visitors enjoyed a 2-1 victory over Hatfield Main last week.

Selby Town play their second of a trilogy of games against North Ferriby. The teams drew 1-1 at Flaxley Road on Tuesday night in the Presidents Cup and meet again in the NCEL premier divsion at North Ferriby tomorrow. Their cup replay is pencilled in for next week.

Title-chasing North Ferriby will be anxious for victory as they are just two points behind leaders Brigg with a game in hand.

Darren Wilson will continue to deputise for the suspended Dominc Moyles in midfield, while left back Andy Hart has a fitness test to determine if he can return to the side.

Harrogate Railway are still adrift at the bottom and will not find it easy at Alfreton Town who had a 5-0 win at struggling Eccleshill on Tuesday.

After three defeats in the last four games, Nestl Rowntree are looking to get back to winning ways at home to Tadcaster Magnet Sports in the West Yorkshire League premier division.

Mark Watkinson is unavailable for the first time this season but 'Trees are strengthened by the return of Alex Dewhirst, Dave Harvey, Brent Terry and Gavin Dickinson.

York RI are missing several players for their trip to Beeston.

Scott Barley has a fractured cheekbone, Lee Bond and Lee Knaggs are unavailable and there is a doubt over Luke Bilham.

As they look to build on last week's fine League Cup defeat of Carlton Athletic, RI have drafted in Joe Gaughan and Steve Pearson and were expecting to complete the signing of defender Steve Daniels from Tadcaster Magnet Sports last night.

Hosts Knaresborough Town will be hoping to inflict another cup defeat on high-flying Carlton, this time in the fifth round of the County Challenge Cup.

Striker Steve Bradley is unavailable so his place in the Knaresborough attack will be taken by Lee Shaw. Simon Render is also added to the squad.

Goalkeeper Rob Montgomery has left Harrogate Town by mutual consent.

The UniBond first division side are without a fixture tomorrow following their FA Trophy exit on Tuesday.

Having beaten Spennymor in the third round they were scheduled to play Bishop Auckland in the fourth round tomorrow.

But they were forced to replay the Spennymoor tie having fielded a substitute not listed on their team sheet and bowed out 2-0.

Harrogate are next in action on Tuesday when they travel to Goole in the quarter-final of the county cup.

New Earswick Under-19s entertain Eccleshill in a vital Northern Youth Academy clash on Sunday.

New Earswick beat their opponents in the semi-final of the League Cup a couple of weeks ago but it went to extra-time and manager Jimmy Reid knows just how tight it will be this time.

"They're third in the league and we're just above them with Doncaster above us so we need to try and put some daylight between us and them," he said.
