While I applaud any attempt to improve road safety for everyone ('City black spot work scheduled', March 1), surely banning right hand turns out of Mill Lane will only transfer a problem junction a few hundred yards along to the Heworth Road/Malton Road junction?

Traffic will have to go down East Parade, then into Heworth Road to get onto Malton Road. Whichever exit one comes out of to travel out of York, Malton Road still has to be crossed somewhere.

I am a cyclist and can't pull out as quickly as a car driver. I consider the Heworth Road junction more dangerous, as traffic coming into York travels much faster at that point.
