Ros Kerr's long list of achievements in darts now includes another York John Smith's Ladies League Individual title.

But, Kerr's 3-2 win in the final against her Brigadier colleagues and team captain Sue Lowery was a near thing.

Lowery led 2-1, Kerr finding the tons-plus but not so the finishes. However an absolutely marvellous 140, 100, 100, 85 then 76 finish for 15 darts brought the scores level and a couple of nervous throws from Lowery allowed Kerr to dominate the decider.

Kerr was also involved, with Jo Hodges as partner, defending the pairs competition title. But Angie Hields and Sue Smith (City Arms) denied them by deservedly wining 2-1 after building up a good lead in the final game.

Hield's joined forces with Bev Hartan and Carole Pipes to win the triples event 2-0 without giving Brigadiers Kerr, Hodges and Julie Coyle a shot at a double.

Nevertheless, Brigadier got back to the business of collecting trophies when Lowery and Hodges enjoyed a 2-0 victory over Harton and Pipes in the Captain, Vice-Captain competition.

The Drawn Pairs result went 2-1 in favour of Carole Layne (Brigadier) and Sue Tate (Frog).

Diane Moreland (Cranes) and Toni Smallwood (Frog) failed to capitalise on their good scoring in the critical title clinching game.

Kerr was elected player of the night while Layne had a 60 aggregate to pick up the award for the three quickest games during the season.

Maureen Tindall added the York White Rose Ladies League Individual title to Railway Institute division on championship haul by beating Maggie Adamson (Coach and Horses, Tadcaster) 2-0.

Tindall's win culminated with a splendid 19 darts.

The pairs trophy winners, representing City Arms, were Ann Robinson and Karen Reasbeck whose 117 and 180 scores served to take them down to a finish after 15 darts.

They beat Jill Clapham and Yvonne Ryder (Coach) 2-0.

After finally overcoming their troubles of locating doubles Locomotive, represented by Audrey Scorfield, Sheelagh Lord and Heather Beadnell, took the triples title 2-1 against Crescent's Pam Husband, Elsie Blackburn and Milly Mountain. The summer season starts tonight.

Punch Bowl 'A' recorded a good 7-2 York John's Smith Mixed League victory at Tang Hall in which Bob Rochester checked bullseye for a 121 finish and game in 18 darts. Dave Gibbons (19) and Mick Nixon (20) assisted Cygnet 'A' to a close 5-4 win against Dringhouses, who had Barry Noble as a 180 scorer.

Bumper Castle's 7-2 win over Vaults 'A' included big scoring by Mike Plummer (177, 140) which took him out in 20 darts, while Jimmy Joyce threw a maximum to game in 21 darts but his Burton Stone side went down 5-3 at Leeman.

York Exhibition Hotel Group League hold their competition finals night at Holgate WMC on Friday, 7.45pm.

Green Tree's Gary Wensley defends the Individual title from the jaws of Barry Noble (Dringhouses), Mick Wilsden (Shepherd's) and Paul Kerrs (Trafalgar) - strong opposition indeed.

Noble partners Derek Bell, and Wilsden partners Lee Carter to contest the pairs event. Ray McInally and Gary Kynman (Poacher) and Greg Robinson, Barry Nicholson (Shepherd's) are the other semi-finalists.

Bell and Keers are involved in the Captain's Cup showdown along with Paul Calpin (Flag) and Derek Alexander (Mount). The team championship is between Shepherd's and Poacher.
