Peter Swan is to negotiate with City

The experienced former Leeds United star, recently released by Burnley, played his second game for City's reserves last night.

After a week's training with the Minstermen, he is now due in to talk with City boss Terry Dolan.

An experienced City reserve side were beaten 2-0 by Scarborough, with the goals coming from Ian Milbourne and Stewart Morris in their Pontin's League division one clash at the McCain Stadium.

So poor was the display from York that coach Adie Shaw questioned his players' attitude.

The only positive outcome from the match was a good showing from striker Colin Alcide.

The former Hull front-runner, out since the beginning of the year with a back injury, played for 55 minutes before being withdrawn.

"It was good to see Colin back on the pitch, doing his job and winning the headers," said Shaw.

"He did very well considering it was his first game back and was the only plus point in a poor performance.

"Some of the experienced players have got to take a good look at themselves because we had a decent side out but we didn't perform, while Scarborough's young kids were enthusiastic."

Wideman Craig Skinner played a full 90 minutes after recovering from a neck injury that ruled him out of City's last three games.

Ex-City boss Neil Thompson did not re-acquaint himself with his former players last night.

A calf injury prevented Thompson from making his first Boro appearance since signing for the Seasiders until the end of the season. He is now expected to make his first outing in their reserve match at home to Lincoln City next week.
